Eventually we made it to the top, 4,000 feet above where we started our ride. I thought having all the downhill ahead of me would be the best part of the ride, but really, the best part of the ride was the sense of accomplishment I got from it all. Five-and-a-half hours after starting the ride, we were pulling up to the car. Whew!
