After the rose garden and a short trip downtown where I scored new bike shorts ($130) and a jersey ($80) for only $105, we got checked into the Hotel Mar Monte where despite the more economical reservation, we ended up with an ocean-view room! Donna’s first reaction was to pull up a chair and stare out the window. My first reaction was to inspect the plumbing.
All in all it was a great room with lots of space, a comfy bed, big tv and a wonderful ocean breeze.
