I finally got out for a ride tonight after work, exploring a new route Donna and I scoped out this past weekend. I ended up being glad that I was by myself, because it was miserable. Crazy steep climbs in some areas and so overgrown in other areas that I might as well just wandered across the hillsides with no route or destination in mind.
In a few spots, the climbs got so steep that when I lost my footing (yes, I was hiking it) I slid back downhill a few feet. A few hundred feet seemingly took forever!
Needless to say it’s not a route I ever plan to ride again. I might tell Donna it was awesome though and see if I can trick her into trying it during one of her morning expeditions. Shhhh.
