ANOTHER NIGHT ON THE TRAILS

We got out for another ride Friday night – Donna’s second night on the dark, cold singletrack above Newbury Park. Riding at night is proving to be more of a challenge than either of us thought it would be. I thought it would be easy because I’d be so excited about actually being able to ride with Donna, instead of going solo. Donna thought it would be, because she’s used to riding almost every day.
Well, after getting up at 6:15am and working from 7:45-6:15pm, we’re both finding a strong temptation to crash on the sofa by time we get home, around 6:45pm.
I’ll take the credit for Friday’s effort. Donna was less-than-enthused about the idea of hitting the trails. I wasn’t excited about the prospect either, but I’ve got a racer to get ready for the Sea Otter Classic, so as her coach, I pushed past the urge to be a couch potato and got us out.
Upon exiting the trails, Donna was excited and said she had a great time – something we’ll have to remember the next time the couch is calling our names louder than the bike seats.
