Donna, over the past four years, has grown so accustom to taking care of the house, that she’s having a hard time leaving any of it to me. Of course for the past four years I’ve generally had a longer work week, so I think she felt the least she could do was make sure the house always looked good and dinner was always ready to go.
Of course now we’re both working long hours and she’s having to leave some of the house work to me – which is killing her.
The other night, when getting ready for bed, her face went from this big, beautiful smile, to this expression I hope to see little of in the future.
It was essentially the expression she made when she realized I had cooking to do, dishes to clean and some vacuuming and dusting to do on my day off. Never mind of course that she spent her day off doing grocery shopping and running other errands, as well as taking care of the laundry.
We’ll get this new routine down soon enough and hopefully she come to realize that there’s two of us to get all the chores done.
