SATURDAY MORNING

This morning I had a bit of a rough start to the day. My mind started going 100 miles an hour around 5:45am and getting back to sleep was impossible. I think I’m just anxious, excited and nervous about the new home, and closing isn’t for another week-and-a-half.

One thing I’m going to miss in Newbury Park is the one tree just to the side of our home. I don’t know what kind it is but the leaves remind me of an Aspen tree. They’re a pain to sweep up off the front patio, but pretty to look at.

Since I was up so early I decided to head to Starbuck’s a little earlier than normal. I was still half asleep but not so much that I felt it was dangerous to operate a motor vehicle. This is one thing I’ll enjoy about the new home – a Starbuck’s that’s just walking distance from home! Plus, when I go to get into my car, I’ll be doing so either in a garage or driveway, as opposed to a parking lot.

The skies were a bit gloomy this morning and there’s talk that drops of water might even fall from the sky later today or tonight – but that’s just crazy talk.
