We got out for a hike today and ended up doing a little exploring. A bridge was recently installed, over a big creek, near a trailhead that we frequent. When such a big, expensive bridge is installed, one might assume there’s something worth seeing on the other side of the bridge. Turns out, there wasn’t.
We ended up hiking through the same creek about six times, obviously at locations where there are not any bridges. Almost three hours later we were back at the car with soaking-wet feet.
We couldn’t help but keep muttering the words, “It’s always an adventure,” which is what we used to always say when bike rides went terribly wrong.
