A Saturday adventure

We decided to do a little exploring on Saturday. Initially, the trail appeared to be well traveled but the further we went, the more it faded. We were down at the bottom of a small valley and were hoping it made it the whole way up to a trail around the perimeter of the valley.

Eventually the trail started getting steeper and steeper. We contemplated turning around but by that point, getting down would have been as much a challenge as continuing, so we pushed on. To add insult to injury, the ‘trail’ started to go right through a massive cactus field.

Donna lost her footing at one point and started to slide down the mountain, which wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t cactus everywhere.

Eventually, we made it to the top and vowed to never hike that route again.

After reaching the top, Donna had to stop to pull cactus needles out of her hands. Ouch! They weren’t the big one, just tons of those little tiny ones that require tweezers and sting like crazy.
