Waiting during Donna’s surgery was the longest 6 hours of my life. Of course we wanted to be nearby in case one of the doctors came out with an update, but we had no such luck. Dr. Steen was the first to come out, about 5 hours after surgery started. He was done but the other surgeon still had another hour of work to do. Then of course there was the waiting once Donna got into the recovery room then the waiting for her to get into her room.
