TOUCHING MOMENTS

Donna has been a real trooper, recovering from surgery while juggling a number of appointments with her oncologist, surgeon, plastic surgeon and this week even a cardiologist. My sister has been incredibly helpful, running Donna to all her appointments as I conserve my PTO for her chemo treatments.

Tonight however the tears started to roll down her cheeks after she received cards and gifts from members of the desk in Corpus and Bruce & Amanda – friends of ours in Ohio. She was incredibly touched to know that people so far away are thinking of her.

Our future schedule is yet to be determined. We met with the oncologist today but Donna still has one drain and she can’t start chemotherapy until all drains are gone. So next week we’re hoping the drain will come out, we’ll meet with the oncologist again and likely start chemo the end of next week or the beginning of the following week.
