The oncologist didn’t recognize Donna’s symptoms as herceptin side effects and felt an exam was best, though the idea of getting out of bed and going for a motion-sickness-inducing drive didn’t seem like a swell idea to Donna. After the exam, blood work, etc., all that was determined is that she has a “bug” and the symptoms are amplified due to the fact that she just recently completed chemotherapy.

There is potentially another diagnosis but they want to spare Donna the tests unless her symptoms continue for another two to three days.

Just as has been the case over the past few months, Donna was in good spirit despite the nasty aches, pains, fever & nausea – which I’m certain is more than what you could say about me given the same circumstances.

Donna’s body is never too anxious to give up blood and today was no exception. They had to stick her twice to access her port then sit her up and lay her down to finally get any blood.
