Saturday we got out for quite an adventure. Buddy always stays home when we’ve got any lengthy drive time, but I was feeling guilty for leaving him home. So we tried something different – crating him in the car. He whined and whimpered just as much (almost) but at least was confined to his crate and couldn’t jump into the front seat.
Piedra Blanca is about 30 minutes outside of Ojai, in the Los Padres National Forest. The rock formations are amazing!
We even managed to spot some fall color along the way – not a lot, but enough to enjoy.
We had a good-size group, including Phi, Jean Ann, Marty, Duane, Buddy and Mr. P.
Buddy spent the entire 6+ mile hike off leash. I say 6+ because my GPS said 6.24 but Phi’s said almost 8. Who knows.
While the guys went ahead, it was never difficult to keep track of the ladies. You could hear their non-stop conversation from a mile away.
Buddy enjoyed climbing around the rock formations with Phi.
By time we got back to the car, Buddy was more than happy to climb into his crate – though he was too tired to jump in, so I had to pick him up.
