Automation to the rescue

Many of us have multiple social media accounts and most of us have a favorite – that ONE social media platform that holds the highest priority above all the rest. For me, it’s Instagram, which is pretty much at the hub of 90% of my social media activity.

Yes, I’m also on Flickr, 500px, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and I have a personal blog as well. But after snapping a photo that I want to share, the last thing I feel like doing is sharing it on six different platforms.

Enter IFTTT, which stands for “If This Then That,” a powerful automation tool that is now making my life much easier. Upload a photo to Instagram and that photo is also shared to Facebook, Twitter, 500px and Flickr. What about my blog? Well, any new photo that I post to Flickr is automatically posted to my blog, so after the Instagram photo goes to Flickr, Flickr then automatically sends it to my blog.

There are tons of different formulas offered by IFTTT but this is one of the formulas I have dialed in for the time being.
