I went fly fishing in Pembroke and what an amazing outing it turned out to be. The stream is pretty crowded by vegetation, making it difficult to cast. As a result, I switched rods, ditching my newer (and much longer) rod and threw grandpa’s fly reel on the shorter rod of his. It worked like a charm. There’s something amazing about pulling a trout out of a stream that isn’t stocked. And streams with native trout are a bit on the rare side around here.
