We had a warm, sunny Sunday in Christiansburg, so we drove to the coldest, cloudiest spot we could find — and went for a hike.
Truth be told, we thought we were heading out for a nice hike on a beautiful day, but the closer we got to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the cloudier it got. By time we reached the trailhead, we realized we were in for a cloudy hike. It wasn’t until we got out of the car that we realized we were also in for a cold hike. Fortunately, we had extra coats, shirts, gloves, etc. in the car, so we were able to dress appropriately for the weather.
