I asked Donna if she wanted to get away for the weekend for her birthday. Perhaps a night in Damascus and some biking on the Creeper Trail? Or head to Charlottesville for a weekend of good food, some shopping and maybe a little hiking?
She passed on the weekend getaway idea and said she wanted to spend her birthday biking the New River Trail, then crashing for the evening at home with a pizza from Sal’s in Radford.

The day started out cold and overcast. While gearing up at the trailhead, I was questioning her sanity. But it wasn’t long before the clouds broke up and the sun graced us with its presence for the bulk of the ride.
