This was our last day of staycation and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We started with a short walk on the Huckleberry Trail with Buddy. After getting him home and fed, it was off for a short hike along the Appalachian Trail at Cherokee Flats in the Jefferson National Forest. From there, we went for another short hike to the wetlands at Glen Alton — which turned out to be a real gem that we had never discovered. After Glen Alton, we drove up into the Mountain Lake Conservancy area and did another short hike to Wind Rock, again on the Appalachian Trail.
