A week has passed since we lost our boy. I haven’t returned to the trails of our afternoon adventures since then — until today.
I was expecting to break down into tears. But despite the fact that Buddy never spoke a word to me, I could hear him telling me to enjoy the fresh air, to disregard the past and the future, and to take in the sights, sounds (and smells) of an afternoon stroll.

The paths were so empty without my boy. It’s going to be a harsh, unforgiving winter without him.
