There’s a home at the trailhead that has a really elaborate miniature town in the front yard. The homeowner was out today and I had a chance to say hi. He said he’d rather maintain the little village than mow grass (the alternative way of landscaping a front yard). He was a really nice guy and I think it’s pretty cool that he leaves this setting outdoors for passerby’s to enjoy.
