Looking back at old videos and photos, as I recall the all-day rides Donna and I used to go on, I can’t figure out how I was a stronger rider when I weighed 25lbs more than I do right now. If nothing else, it goes to show that body weight can have little to do with fitness level, despite what the doctors, charts and tests might say.
Donna would argue my claim, saying I’m in better shape now then I was back then, but my body tells me differently. Lately, two-hours rides are more than sufficient for me and I can’t imagine trying the 6-hour ride we did last year, off-road from Santa Barbara to Solvang.
