BEING A HERO

Maybe the word ‘hero’ is a bit much, but I did save a baby rabbit’s life during our ride today. We were dropping down the mountain, heading home, when I slammed on the brakes because a rattle snake was making it’s way across the trail.

It was just a moment later that I realized there was a baby bunny rabbit about two feet away from the snake and he was headed straight for it. The rabbit was being dead still and the snake started to coil up a bit and take a bit of interest in me.

Fortunately the snake realized he was no match for me and retreated into the brush, while the rabbit still sat frozen. Of course I was trying to get some photos or video but before I was close enough to get an ok photo, the snake was gone.

Donna and I started to get moving again and the rabbit remained still. Not once did it thank for for saving it’s life. Other than that, it was a pretty typical ride. We didn’t get started until later in the day because we took some time to get a few things done around the house in the morning.

By the time we were getting home, it was too late to catch any of the tour of California.
