We haven’t adopted this guy yet but we’ve given him a name – Bear. Bear is a chocolate lab (he has sun spots that will likely grow out) at the local shelter and Sunday morning we’re hoping to adopt him.
Friday I was really bummed when a great dane we were interested in ended up going to another home. We contemplated waiting for a dane elsewhere but decided against it for two reasons – first, they’re quick to go and most any great dane out there is likely to find a good home and second, we can’t take a dane on long hikes or runs. As beautiful as great danes are, I just don’t know how good of a fit one would be for us.
Bear is currently at a kill shelter after being abandoned by his previous owner. He’s about one year old, knows the ‘sit’ command (when he feels like listening) and absolutely loves to play fetch!
