Back from the camera hospital

Quite some time ago I picked up a Nikon P300 and was floored at the low-light capabilities. It far surpassed anything I had shot with up until that point, allowing me to shoot images with barely any light. Then one night I dropped it while walking with Buddy. I figured it was a goner and shoved it into a drawer for months.

The other week I was on the phone with a local repair shop, discussing repairs for a few of the cameras at work, and thought I’d ask about repairing the P300. Turns out, it wasn’t that expensive at all. I took it in and now a week later, I’ve got it back.

Unfortunately, while the camera was out of commission, Donna bought me a Fuji X100 for Christmas and as a result I’ve grown accustomed to extremely high image quality – which means now I’m not as impressed with the P300. I’m not complaining though – it’s a great camera for occasions that warrant a $300 camera instead of a $1,200 camera.
