November in Ohio

You don't generally think of traveling from Southern California to Ohio in mid-November. Then again, mom isn't generally heading to the Cleveland Clinic for heart surgery in mid-November.

I left LAX Saturday morning and arrived in Cleveland that evening. Here's what I saw along the way, before my Thursday-morning return flight.

The lobby of a medical center where my dad had an appointment.

The waiting room outside ICU at the Cleveland Clinic.

The sun setting over Cleveland, as seen from the roof of the Cleveland Clinic.

Reflections of a beautiful sunset outside the clinic.

Just a cool light outside the clinic.

Hangin’ with my Mac-using sis in one of the clinic lobbies.

Clouds reflecting in the clinic windows.

Dad, admiring the view from mom’s 5th floor room.

Ice crystals on a patio table at my parent’s house.

Conference call via an iPhone & Bose headphones.

Mom, exhausted from her heart surgery.

A nice, bright, quiet area on the top floor of the clinic.

The view from my mom’s room.

Morning frost on a VERY cold day.

The daily drive from Canton to Cleveland.

Dad, exhausted from mom’s heart surgery.

The roof-top terrace at the clinic.

The Cleveland skyline.

The secret to a long, happy marriage – napping together.

Better to walk into the clinic than to be flown in.

On the elevator with my sis.

No more smokes… just vapor.

Cleveland Clinic architecture.

  1. Ummmm, excuse me, I think you left a special someone out of the slide show! I hope her feelings aren’t too hurt, after all she is a big fan of Uncle Bro’s blog!

    1. Joe was just easier to get a photo of – he spends much more time being still.
