I made it back home (from Ohio) just in time to share Valentine’s Day with my sweetheart. Donna and I always say that EVERY day is Valentine’s Day for us, so we don’t usually do anything out of the ordinary.
This year, we started with the usual 5-mile walk with Buddy, followed by 12 miles of fartin’ around Camarillo by bike.
Then it was off to the movies – Deadpool to be exact (which believe it or not was Donna’s idea). Turns out, the movie was a real dud – a great movie completely ruined by excessive profanity, raunchy dialogue and nudity.
Then it was time for a fancy dinner out, right? Nope… try delicious beer brats, tots and coleslaw, with a creamy beer cheese sauce! Here’s how you do it – boil 5 brats in 24 ounces of beer for 15 minutes, then throw them on the grill for an additional 15 minutes. To make the cheese sauce, use 1 cup of the boiled beer, add 1 cup of cream cheese and 2 cups of cheddar cheese. Oh, and don’t forget to grill one large onion to top off the brats!
