What a wonderful Saturday morning! A few weeks ago I hooked this beautiful trout near Tom’s Creek. Before I could get him in, my line snapped. I found it troubling — not that he got away, but that he was stuck with a fly in his lip. I returned to the same spot twice, without any luck.
Then came today. Poverty Creek was much deeper and moving much faster due to recent snowfall. I figured the trout had moved along, but I tried anyway. Thirty minutes later, voila! I pulled the same trout out of the creek, removed both flies, and sent him on his way.
