Sunday we woke up in Charleston with a full agenda for the day — two lighthouses, rainbow row, a bridge, the waterfront park and general sightseeing.
First up was the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse, about 30 minutes north of where we were staying. It had to be one of the most unusual lighthouses we had ever seen.

After the Lighthouse we headed toward Patriot Point, the Arthur Ravenal Bridge, downtown and a waterfront park.

By early afternoon we realized we still had time to get to the Morris Island Lighthouse. We made a quick stop on Sonic to seek relief from the heat and humidity, then headed south toward Folly Beach. Traffic was a bit crazy on the one road leading to the island, so we started playing the alphabet game. 20 minutes and 20 yards later, we were done, finding the bulk of the letters on the license plates of vehicles coming the opposite direction.

Before reaching an unobstructed view of the lighthouse, the pavement ended and there was nothing left but sand, so dad was unfortunately unable to continue on. Donna and I pressed onward for sake of capturing a clear view.

After the Lighthouse we were ready to call it a day. It was back to the house, then take-out from Jersey Mike’s.
