
It was the last day of our 11-day winter break, there was a mix of sun and clouds, and the temperatures would eventually climb into the 60s, so we decided to make the most of the day and hike to Hay Rock. It was a crowded trail and there were a few pesky groups — one in front of us and one behind us — but once we reached the top we found some peace and quiet, along with the usual spectacular views of Carvins Cove.



I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the carbon-fiber tripod Donna got me for Christmas. It’s small, light, fits in my backpack, and it allows me to finally get some photos of Donna and I together at some of our favorite destinations.
