0-60 IN 1.5 SECONDS

Donna and I are still getting to know Buddy. He ‘spoke’ for the first time on Monday, while wrestling with me and his stuffed animal, but it was a very muffled growl – not a bark.

Monday was a busy day for sure. We took Buddy hiking and then to the beach, where we discovered that he loves sand but hates the water rushing towards him. He did ok on the hike and seemed to do best when I walked in front, then him behind me (leashed) then Donna. I don’t think that right now he has the endurance that I assumed he would. We hiked for a little over an hour and that seemed to tucker him out.

Most bizarre is that he can go from a deep sleep and a complete spaz in under two seconds. He gave us a scare last night – he was sleeping on the floor and when I tried to wake him, he didn’t budge. For about three seconds I thought something was really wrong – then I realized he was just in a deep sleep! Yes, he sleeps so deep that you can call his name, nudge him etc. and he still might not wake up. I think he was just really tired from all the day’s excitement.

Donna went through separation anxiety this morning. Her eyes were all watery as she tried to say goodbye to Buddy for the day. I think it’s been a tough morning for her, worried about the little, furry guy that already means so, so much to her.
