After the hike and a little laziness around the house, a smoothie was in order – in part to cool us down and in part to reenergize us. Scorching temps in the high 70’s had us suffering from heat exhaustion.
Flip-flop season has officially arrived (for me). People around here seem to wear them year-round, even if they have to wear jeans and a hooded sweatshirt with ‘em.
Saturday was ‘my day.’ Donna is enjoying spending time around the house more and more, and I like being out and about. We’ve decided to compromise and spend one weekend day out and about, and one weekend day more around the house. Hat shopping was a big success for Donna and I found one I really like too.
Spring is in the air so we stopped by Gardens of the World for a bit. There’s not much springing to life yet, but a few of the flowers were in bloom. Regardless of the time of year, it’s a pretty garden to tour.

I’ve contemplated bamboo in the back yard, for sake of privacy, but I don’t think I’d care to manage it, and I hear it can get away from you pretty easily.
At least my favorites were in bloom.
